Not much has happened since then.

As you've known since my last entry, I'm a Ranger now. But I haven't had much training done after my last entry. I managed to rank level 13 first, before I didn't get incited anymore. Since then, I've mainly been inside and around the city, participating in events, do some farming, and send/receive equipment from Eirwen that I store for her.

A few weeks ago, I managed to get Ranger to 16. Now, I've heard from Eirwen, who has been leveling Ranger as well, about a certain tunic... Trailer's Tunica? Anyway, it's supposed to be great for Rangers of my level. But to travel all the way back to Windurst to beat an NM for that... It's even located in those ruins underneath Sarutabaruta, where my amnesia began.

I also read, in a special about Rangers in the Elvaan Male Monthly, about Bone Rings that can help me with my aim. For the rest, I seem well-prepared, thanks to my earlier leveling as Thief. I should camp Valkurm Emperor for his Emperor Hairpin, or hope Eirwen will finally get that Empress Hairpin from that Burning Circle NM some day, so we can share it.

Right now, I can't go anywhere, since Eirwen's been borrowing most of my equipment. Wait... she has my bone harness, and I can't wear that as a Ranger... All I need back is my vision ring. Hmmm... Maybe I can poke her about returning it. Though she seems busy lately. Reading about her Chains of Promathia runs sounds like she's having fun out there. Remind me to check the guards for new missions. My fingers are tingling to get on the road again. *purrr* =3

Enigmatic Camping

After the Bahamut thing, I couldn't sleep for a few nights. Eventually, I headed for the Infirmary, where I talked to the Medical Chief named Monberaux, who examined me.
I remembered Wolfgang bringing that weird pale kid to the Infirmary after the incident at Delkfutt's Tower, and I asked how the kid was doing. The kid was still unconsious.

Then, out of nowhere, the supposedly unconcious kid was standing in front of me. Monberaux and his staff excused themselves, and I was left waiting for the diagnose results. What followed after that was... He showed me things... visions... of a strange place. I saw a lot of architecture like those white unknown spine things and crags across the world.

Was he trying to help me with my memory? The place he showed me didn't ring a bell. Maybe that blue gem he gave me can help me finding the answers I seek. The above picture was taken when I accidentially dropped my camera while having those visions.

After these visions, I was left with a headache. I walked outside, only to find the doctor, Wolfgang and several guards run after something. They were after the kid. Monberaux was very shocked that the kid suddenly got up and ran away. I showed him the blue gem, but he did not know what it was. I'm keeping it for now.

Monberaux gave me some Sleeping Potions and some Remedy drinks for my headache.

After a few days, I managed to regain my full energetic self, thanks to the Sleeping Potions. It was a nice day, so I decided to head outside. I don't care what Eirwen says, but I like Upper Jeuno a lot. It's architecture, it's not-straight street, and all those adventurers with their gobbiebags filled with gil heading for the Bazaar just outside.

I tried picking a pocket, but then some frolic guy rushed by and spanked me, and several others, on the toosh. I can handle one time. But this guy kept on spanking everytime I walked past. I decided to follow that runt. Eventually, I caught him off-guard behind the Durable Shields store. I snuck up on him, used Sneak Attack, a trick I've known for some time now, and gave him a spanking of my own! He hasn't spanked ever since.

I went back to Kazham to party with some other guys just outside this little port town. We cut through the Mandragora's as if they were made of Selbina Butter. I stayed the night at Kazham and went back to partying with the red-haired elvaan again (on the right in picture above). Though we did great the day before, this new party sucked Bahamut's ass.

First, all the available camps throughout the jungle were claimed. We managed to squeeze in at the Outpost at the southern most part of the jungle. After we had finally gathered, and killing one mob, our White Mage left. He didn't heal us anyway, because he found our party's setup not god enough. If only I had followed his example...

We got a new White Mage, pulled some Goblins, and we were toast more often that the Goblins were. After many defeats, we finally decided to move camp to a place behind the nearby waterfall. Pretty sight there, but ugly fish-men. With a bit of trouble, we were able to kill one fish at the time, and rested inbetween.

At the worst time every, in the worst party ever, my memory decided to kick in and left me spaced out as I saw these memories flash by. The party did not like it, and got defeated as I was unable to move. Even I got defeated, but I didn't notice a thing. I fell unconcious. When I came to, someone had cast Raise on me, and the party had left the camp. How could they leave me there to die...

The next day, I had my skills and abilities compared to technical statistics. They ranked me a level 30 Thief. Not bad if I say so myself.

Since I was already in town, I went to visit Perih Vashai. She's the chieftainess of the Mithra of Windurst Woods. She's a famous Anaconda Mercenary Major, who served in the Crystal War.

Aparently, she knew me, as she called me by name. She was surprised to see I didn't know her. I explained to her my situation, and she showed me support.

I did remember something that had to do with miss Vashai, thanks to those flashbacks I had at the jungle the day before. These flashbacks showed me in my childhood years, running around these streets, past the Dhalmel farm, and being all excited around miss Vashai.

Miss Vashai asked about my technical specifications as an adventurer. I told her I got ranked a level 30 Thief. She decided it was time for me to learn the ways of her own profession, as I had always wanted, according to her. She gave me the task to observe the short life of an old fanged one.

As cryptic as it was, I knew what she meant. I had heard about this Tiger Cemetary somewhere in Sauromugue Champaign. I rented a Chocobo and made my way there. I found a cave and followed this old tiger inside, keeping myself hidden from detection by using a prism powder I purchased earlier. That poor thing died on its own, in a natural way.

I took a souvenir back to Windurst and showed it to miss Vashai. She taught me a wise lesson, and as proof of me passing her test, I received a Ranger's Necklace.

Now that I was able to develop my skills as a ranger, I took out a guide I had purchased from a merchant. I had heard being a Ranger is expensive, due to all the ammo and expensive equipment. And they were right. I staggered at the prices of certain very great beginners equipment at the Auction House.

I might have lost my memory, but I didn't fell on my head. So I took out my Armour and Weapon Guide, and found out certain equipment came from a few Notorious Monsters. Specs showed that someone ranked level 30 could easily handle them. So I made my way to South Gustaberg and finally got my Bounding Boots from that damn lizard Leaping Lizzy. After that, Juu Duzu the Whirlwind was my next victim. His bow has great statistics. I was amazed nobody camped him.

Not everything came from Notorious Monsters. I found a Gun on an Orcish Stonelauncher, and did a quest for a Wing Pendant. I heard the Cathedral in San d'Oria gave these things away if you traded them some water from the river. Weird fellows these church Elvaan. Even their greeting looks weird. Apparently, the hands up thing has to do with the Goddess and the sky or something. I lowered my hands instead. Solid ground for me, please.

With all the equipment at hand, and a gobbiebag full of rations and ammunition, I was ready for some partying at the Dunes. But first I forgot several things. It took me longer than I wanted to reach Valkurm Dunes. And when I did, some weird guy was randomly inviting people. I was ranked Ranger level 10, and the others he invited were either level 17 or 16. He himself was a level 13. I left the party after excusing myself, and waited for a new invitation.

I got a new invite, and made my way to the camp sites near the Konschtat Highlands border. To my very surprise, the area was fully camped. I hit my head with the palm of my hand. You'd think that people ranked level 13 would have left these sites by now.

The party started off slow. We were defeated a few times. Twice due to aggro, but I managed to save the party a couple of times by pulling the mob away from them.

After a while, the party kicked into gear and I managed to work my Ranger level up a bit. I kept switching my bows, and even though I had to work on my Archery skills, I ended up having to use my up-to-level Marksmanship to use my Blind bolts to debuff the lizards I pulled.

After a long time, I left the party, because I felt sleepy. I waved Zenophora, a new friend of mine, goodbye, who had been around the camp for some time. I also bid Eazura farewell, who helped out for a while, in case we needed a raise or an extra healer.

As for Vivid Infinity, she's doing okay. Her depressions have ended at last, and she's even fallen in love a few times. She's not developing on any statistics as fast as she used to. Then again, she's almost fully grown, and according to Hantileon, this is normal. I trust his expertise. I just wish those carrots wouldn't be so expensive.

So far, I enjoy being a Ranger. But I think I'll be soloing my way to 15 if the parties keep sucking as they do lately. And I wish my memory wouldn't kick in at the worst times. I also have these weird dreams... I'm in it, but then a high class Ranger, and I'm talking to the Star Cybil, who keeps calling me miss Lafihna. Even though that name rings a bell, I don't remember where I've heard that name. I do end up smiling, as it's a pleasant dream. Remind me to look up the name Lafihna in the magazines at the Infirmary.

Sunbreeze Festival and Bahamut

As promised, my new update, with more on my random adventures from the past couple of weeks.

Sunbreeze Festival time! An event Moogle near Ranperre Gate showed me the poster on the left and told me about this play some people were performing in Laborman's Way, on the balcony between the Blacksmith's Guild and the Royal Armoury. When I got there, a hume in a blue swimsuit was fighting an undead monster named Ullegore. This was the Fantastic Fraulein Mumor Superheroine Stage Show, where we had to cheer for the heroine, and dance along side her when she needed our help in beating the Undead.

I sticked around for a few shows, then made my way back to the event moogle. He gave me the same blue swimsuit the heroine was wearing as a gift for helping her out. Nice ^^ He also gave me this poster for keeps.

Anemonet was in town, and took me to do the mini-games to get a special version of the swimsuits.

After getting her a swimsuit, we made our way to Victory Square in Souther San d'Oria, where this pervy guy offered us to play the minigame. This game was a "discerning eye" type of game, where we had a minute to spot the differences. The above picture I took I found rather humerous. You had to hit the SPOT button as soon as you could see a difference. LOLsubligar shot XD

As Anemonet had trouble spotting enough differences to get her Red Balloon rewards, we stumbled upon Beamr, a linkshell member we hadn't seen in a long time. We caught up on things and then made our way to Bastok through Moogle teleportation - a special treat during the Sunbreeze festival for those who had seen the Mumor show.

It's really amazing, this free teleportation. It dropped us off at Port Bastok, near the next mini-game. Even the girl Eirwen mentioned in her letters showed up for the festival (the red haired girl on the right). It was amazing to be back in Bastok. Maybe I'll use this teleportation thing to camp Lizzie again.

The mini-game Bastok had to offer was a Shooting Gallery. Player had a minute to shoot as many targets as possible, but had to watch out not to shoot the Pixies. Those pixies, even though they were fake, looked as beautiful as Eirwen told me. With my marksmanship well trained, I had no trouble taking out the right mobs. Reward this time was a Blue Balloon.

After that, we headed for Windurst to play a Chocobo Catch game. You had to steer a Chocobo to catch the Chocobo chicks that were coming at you, but you had to evade the Mandragoras that were mixed in them. I had no pictures taken this time, because I ran out of film.

Anemonet and I went back to Windurst after getting our Green Balloon, to receive our Special Edition swimsuit, that allows us to teleport to Purgonorgo Isle. After that, I was psyched enough to go outside the city again, so I got dressed up, got me a new film roll, and headed for Jeuno.

Lucky for me, I still had my Home Point set at Port Jeuno, so I got there in no time after paying some Conquest Points for a Warp scroll.

Once there, I got me some new bolts and a new crossbow, thanks to Faithful, and soon made my way through Qufim Isle to join a party of adventurers who were killing giants in Lower Delkfutt's Tower. After passing numerous Weapons and Bats, I entered the tower.

And just as you think you've seen it all, a core turns red, and all these guys with the white faces can't do anything about it. I was like "What the heck is going on in here?!"

After the red light had vanished, some Jeuno guards ran by me, and found a boy unconsious on the floor. Wolfgang, their leader, ordered to take the boy to the Infirmary at Upper Jeuno.

After that, it took two aggros of bats to reach teh party. We didn't kill many giants in the tower, and soon killed Pugils at what's known between adventurers as Pugil Lane. I didn't do any pulling... yet.

An hour or two later, we were on our way to Kazham, because the mobs at Qufim were getting too weak. Luckily I got my Kazham Airship Pass some time ago, and experienced my first flight to the Elshimo Lowlands/Uplands.

Kazham sure made an impression on me. A town full of Mithras, next to a dangerous jungle. I also caught this story on Tonberries and Ifrit's Cauldron. It all sounds scary. I hope I won't be heading there anytime soon.

Instead of entering the deep jungles of Yuhtunga Jungle, we made camp near some slope that had a dead end. I wonder what's beyond that gate... Anyway, this camp was pretty safe, and we fought for several more hours.

At one point, we were smashing away on this Mandragora, when a Goblin Smithy, who had been terrorizing the perimiters for some time now, decided to join our party. Our sub-tank got badly injured and required a Raise, because he had to use his special ability Trance on an earlier mob. I so hate that goblin. I tried to poke him to death from a distance, as seen in the picture above. Didn't work though. He came after me, but luckily I used Flee and made it back to town in one piece.

One thing I must thank the goblin for. Thanks to him, I learned a new technique called Shadowstitch, that binds the enemy. Together with Sneak Attack, this could prove very useful, incase a goblin decides to party with us again.

It was late at night that I headed on home. I was tired from all the killing, and lucky for me, the leader had already a replacement for me on the way. Saved me the trouble of finding one myself.

Back home, I turned on the TeleMogVision to catch up on some news, and learned what all that rumbling at the tower was about.

Bahamut rised up from the ocean and didn't come with good news. I slept bad that night.

I want to ride my Chocobo...

I'm sorry for the small entry. I just returned from a long party on the other side of the world. For now, I shall update you on Vivid Invinity - the Chocobo I'm raising.

Ever since Vivid became an adult, her care schedule got new subjects added to the list. One of them is Digging for Treasure. As much as she digs it, Vivid finds it hard to collect items.

Another subject was showing her off to children, to help on Vivid's mental stability. See the boy at the bottom, wearing the green cap? I heard from Hantileon that boy started crying when Vivid became a bit too enthousiastic.

Other care subjects included Acting in a Play, Delivering Messages, and several more.

I think I put too much on Vivid though. And the lack of visits to her made her depressed. Luckily Hantileon was there to take care of her. But I'm her mommy. I feel so bad for neglecting her for days... I can tell her the excuses for my absence, but that doesn't change the fact how bad I was.

Right now, I'm trying to bond with my girl again. She seems to get interested in me again, and gives me plenty oppertunities to find this Chocobo Whistle Hantileon kept mentioning. So far, I haven't found it. I heard I need it to be able to call for my chocobo, so I can ride her.

Taking care of a Chocobo is a very long task, but rewarding in the end. I just hope the end is near, because... I don't want her to suffer too much...

Now to get to bed. Moogle is in her basket, the fireplace is running low on logs and... *yawn*... well, expect another update soon. G'night~

Eggstra! Isn't she adorable? =3

I named her Vivid Infinity, and I'm training her to become a Treasure Hunter... I mean, a Digger chocobo. And she's already looking after me by finding an item on almost every walk I took with her. There was this one time she missed me a lot, because I didn't check on her for a few days. Hantileon, the breeder, offered me a napkin to carry around with me for a while, saying something about my scent and how it can help giving Vivid some good night's rest again. After I turned the napkin in a day or two later, all was well again and Vivid grew up to her teen stage.

I've seen pictures of Eirwen's chocobos when they were teens, and they all had white feathers on their tail. Taking a closer look at Vivid, they are white as well, but a little darker than on Eirwen's pictures. I still wonder what colour Vivid turns out to be.

Meanwhile, I was allowed to give Vivid bigger walks, all the way to La Theine Plateau. On my way back to San d'Oria, I stumbled upon three Hume guys who were raising this chocobo together; each of them on a certain skill. These guys offered me to race heir chocobo against mine. And I agreed.

When we returned to the city, we had Hantileon be the judge of our little race. The streets were cleared to form a track and everyone was cheering the chocobo's on. Vivid was the first to cross the finish line, letting the guys gasp at her victory. They wanted revenge, and so they got it. Two more races, and two more victories for my little girl. The Hume guys were having a fit against eachother, blaming each of them for their chain of losses. The one with the black hair ended up sharing with me the tale of "the Happy Chocobo", now Vivid's favourite story.

After that, I was given a list of several new care options, one of them giving Vivid some time to interact with her fellow Chocobos, like Air, a chocobo she befriended when she was a toddler.

So far, Vivid regards me as her parent and enjoys listening to stories and music. I'm happy to see she's making friends as well. She even became friends with Blood, a chocobo being raised by the Bastokan Chocobo Stables.

In the meantime, I've been strolling around the city, and joining a new Linkshell as the old one, OdinsArtists got broken by accident. Everyone got moved to DangoDaikazoku, a Linkshell run by Anemonet, a friend of Eir and me who I've met a few weeks ago.

At first sight, Anemonet was a weird character. But after some time at the Lion Springs Tavern, she turned out to be fun person to be around with.

I haven't heard from Eirwen for some time now, other than her wanting to borrow some of my things. It's it sweet? =3 I'm made a start with Chocobo raising. I wonder what color my chick will have. Will I be a good parent? What about food?! Gah!!!

But let's go back a few days.

Before I got my chocobo egg, I was fighting some Orcs at Ghelsba Outpost, hoping to perfect my aim on marksmanship. Even though I could shoot one Orc through the head and hit the other one behind him between the eyes, I didn't feel like I was accoplishing anything.

Then I got a tell, asking if I could join in an all Mithra group to complete a quest at the Tower of North San d'Oria. Since they could use some more San d'Orian Mithras, I asked Anemonet through the linkshell to join.

What do you get when you put a party full of Mithra in one room? Panic! XD
Seeing the only tall Mithra on my left in the picture was a little intimidating. Once we got there, I traded her some ingredients for my new favourite food. You've heard me talk about it before: Pickled herring. She gave me so many stacks of this, my mini fridge in the Mog House is starting to reek.

We said our goodbyes and I made my way to Qufim to join a group of adventurers in killing a load of crab. It was a pretty good party. Not the best, but we went through the crabs and eventually pugils as if they were made out of Selbina butter. The only downside was...

...I got knocked out cold. Twice. First time was because a worm decided to join the slaughter. The second time was an unforseen link of three pugils. As the party took care of one of these land fish, I ran my whiskers off with two others behind me. I tried outrunning them by entering the Delkfut Tower, but they got to me in the worst possible location ever: In the middle of a field with a few giants, undead, weapons... you get the picture. In the end, it wasn't a bad day.

A few days later, I talked to this Chocobo stable owner in Upper Jeuno. While he was feeding his chocobo's inside the stable, I noticed a sad chocobo looking outside the city walls. I have no idea what came over me, but I let him escape. The owner, Brutus, wasn't too happy about that and asked me to return his chocobo.

Even though I let his chocobo get away, he allowed me to take care of one of the other sad ones. This chocobo was found running outside and was taken in by Brutus, not knowing who the owner was. The chocobo wouldn't eat, and as punishment for letting the other chocobo escape, he had me put on the quest to feed this lost chocobo.

A few days later, the owner of the lost chocobo was found, but the chocobo wasn't too happy seeing him again. Brutus had a good word with his owner. Soon afterwards, I got my Chocobo License, and could run around the world on these mighty birds.

On my way home to San d'Oria on a rented chocobo, I found the chocobo I let loose. Without hessitation, I dismounted the one I was riding, and caught the fugitive one. I rode him back to Brutus and he was glad to have his chocobo back. But something weird was with his chocobo. I told Brutus there was a wild chocobo his chocobo met in La Theine Plateau.

Hantileon, the president of the Vana'diel Chocobo Society, dropped by to inform us he had a similar case back in San d'Oria. Since everyone was in a hurry, and I had no airship pass yet, I equipped my Kingdom Stables Collar and teleported my way to the Stables, where Hantileon had called for all the stable owners for an important meeting.

After several option and exchange of words, we decided to bring the chocobo from San d'Oria to
let him meet the Jeuno one. And I was right. The Jeuno chocobo had met the runaway chocobo from San d'Oria. There were no wild chocobos involved. The chocobos apologized to us, and in reward for my efforts (even though this was caused by me ^^;) , They gave me an egg to raise.

The next day, Anemonet dropped by to help me out collecting some chest keys for the Airship pass to Kazham. First stop was Fort Ghelsba, and we got it on the first kill. As if Altana had put an angel on my shoulder.

Ane arranged a teleport as I sold some stuff to clear my gobbiebag, and we soon made our way to the Palborough Mines, near Bastok. Thank goodness I now got my Chocobo License, else I'd still be walking my way to Bastok ^^;

After getting the key on the first kill again, we took a shortcut to Bastok. Very strange system... a little boat that only goes one way. Ane took me to an Elvaan lady who sold all kinds of maps, and I bought some off her. One map was expensive, but Ane was generous enough to lent me the gil. Then I got a Warp scroll from the San d'Orian consult at Bastok Metalworks, and got a chocobo from the stables at Port Jeuno.

I still wonder why she told me to close my eyes and pout my lips, as shown in the picture...

On my way to Windurst, I came across another white tower in an area called Tahrongi Canyon. For a minute or so, I stood there spacing out, remembering my vision from weeks ago, about the white tower in a weird area when I saw the one in La Theine Plateau. I shook my head, got off the rented chocobo, and got myself a teleport crystal.

Another strange thing I noticed was that I already had the maps of these regions in my posession. Then again, I did come from this area, or so my friends told me. This is yet another clue to my origin.

Entering East Sarutabaruta, I was surprised to see the these huge yellow caterpillar monsters, and a bird-man creature behind it. I have no idea how long I spaced out that time, but I recalled the yellow blob from my visions a few weeks ago as this caterpillar thing named crawler, and those bird-men as Yagudo.

It's great to remember things, but does it have to be like this? Me, spacing out? And the headache afterwards is no party either.

I found my way to Giddeus with easy. As if I knew the way. That was a weird experience. I waited for Anemonet to arrive, and together we set out to explore the area, looking for another key.

And this time, it was NOT on the first kill. More like the second or third one. I claimed my price, and waited for Anemonet to return, but she didn't respond to my calls through the party channel. Her health was okay, and the Yagudo here wouldn't even think twice about attacking her, so I warped back to Jeuno.

At the departure hall of the Jeuno-Kazham route, I was reminded of the option to pay for my pass in gil. Are these guys short on cash or something? There's no chance in Odin's Chamber I could get that gil on such a short notice. So I got him the keys I just collected instead. In return, he gave me my Airship Pass to Kazham, and I went back to my Mog House to rest. And I could use the rest. Anemonet is taking me and Leku out for some missions.

Interesting Letter

Next time I decide to put up so many pictures, stop me!

I've been at home for days and days now, and I still haven't thought up a lottery number. But there's a brighter note, and the reason for this new entry: my memory.

As you probably know by now, I have no memory of my time before I moved to San d'Oria. But recently, I'm starting to remember vague parts of my past. A moving, big, yellow spot on a green background. A white tower just like the one in La Theine Plateau and Konschtat Highlands, but then in an unknown area with bird-creatures on two legs. I was told that those are the beastmen known as Yagudo. I shook my head, but the name did sound familiar.

This morning, I received a letter from Eirwen. She did not explain why she wrote me a letter instead of telling me this directly, but I guess being a linkshell leader and a pretty darn good Black Mage can be a pretty occupied experience.

Ooookay... I just found myself spacing out after I wrote that last line. I remembered something just now... Eirwen... wanted to be... the best... nuking and... melee Black Mage? I wonder how far she is on that goal.

Where was I... Oh yes, the letter.

In the letter Eirwen wrote me, she was ranting on how she managed to a pact with two avatars just the other day. Now why would she be interested in Summon Magic all of a sudden? Dunno what her dad will think about... that... Okay, two memories regained in one entry? Scary. Hmmm, there was something about her dad...

Well, after her avatar and Summon Magic rant, she told me something that could concern my memory failure. I'll quote something she wrote.

Then, when I talked to the Tarutaru who gave me this quest, a talking doll was floating next to me, and behind me was a person the Tarutaru seemed to know. Suddenly, I found myself transferred back to the area me and my party battled earlier, with the floating doll talking to me, willing to grant me a select few things, even though he said 'anything'. I chose the pact with Garuda, as that was the reason I battled her, and after a few words of Carbuncle, my first summon, I was back at Rabao, but...

Here comes the interesting part.

...but there was something weird with the Tarutaru I was talking to before I was transferred to the Cloister of Gales. He didn't know who I was anymore, nor did he know what he was doing, and reintroduced himself to me as the researcher for the Rhinostery.

Looks like he had lost his memories, but not as bad as me. Still, very interesting. Did I lose my memories the same way as that Tarutaru did? Eazura told me she found me outside the Horutoto Ruins. Eirwen mentioned in her letter something about a Tarutaru who studied the forbidden magic of Summoning there, and that my failing memory and Summon Magic might be connected.

Is this true? Did I stumble on something I shouldn't have? I think my answers lie deep within that Horutoto place. But to get back to Windurst, I first need to become stronger.

Belated Pictures

Finally! A street with cranes and stores. There are people standing around a place under the road, where you can inquire about the things on the Auction House, and then they magically transport the item you want into their hands to hand over, in exchange for the price of the item.

Another thing I noticed was when I went to the gate to outside of the city, and talked to this Tarutaru in white silver plated armour. He offered me Signet, but he wasn't from either one of the known nations.I found it a bit odd, but very convenient.

And then I waited for a party invite near the gate to Qufim Island, until I got a tell to party back at Valkurm Dunes.

Here's a shot of the party I was with. That's right, a party of five. And we kicked some serious ass! So what if we had 3 mages. It was great to know I could go on without having to worry about fainting or getting knocked out.

After that party, I teleported from the Outpost back to San d'Oria. I sure missed this place, even if I was gone for only a few days. I heard there's a lottery going on, and you can only participate at the cities of the three nations. That means Jeuno and Qufim Island will have to wait a bit longer.

And that concludes this picture dump. I'll try and get the pictures developed before making an entry next time. It was a long run, even though we took a shortcut by teleporting to that huge, white tower thingie in La Theine Plateau.

I stood there for a moment, holding my hand against my forehead. I started to remember something else from my past... Remembering I've seen something like this tower before. Not this one, not the one near Bastok, but in some dry, far away place. I saw the same crystal as the one I was standing next to, and when I looked around, I could see those little saplings I saw running around Gustaberg, but also weird bird-like men...

My escort tapped me on the shoulder, and I snapped out of it. For a minute there, I was confused. Why did I remember something now? I've been to this crag many times before... Why...?

Once we got to Jugner Forest, I saw mobs I had never seen before. Even walking trees...

Eventually, after a day of running, we arrived at Upper Jeuno. In front of the gate were all these bazaars, all selling different things, or the same things for different prices. Weird place that was.

I thanked the one who escorted me, and went to look for the Residential Area, where I took a long, well-earned rest.

The next day, I went to the Auction House to get the food I like, Pickled herring, but they didn't have any. How weird. It's delicious! It keeps me sharp through the day.

Anyway, I took a look at their other dishes and snacks, and even though some of them looked very tasty, I couldn't afford it, or it was too high priced for a single snack.

Even those Fish Mithkabobs I had so long ago were too expensive for this poor Mithra.

Eventually, I setteled for two slaps of Grilled Hare. That food gives me a lot of energy, but it's also filling, so I'm not as sharp as I could be waith Pickled herring. I spent 1000 gil on Grilled Hare, and made known I was looking for a party.

Sitting near the Qufim Island entrance, I finally got a message from someone at Valkurm Dunes if I wanted to join his party. This guy talked English, but in a weird way. So simplefied. But that didn't stop me. I agreed, and he told me we'd be going to Qufim Island. Sweet!

Sweet never tasted so bitter. A few hours later, the leader contacted me again, stating I had to come to... Valkurm Dunes... And that after I just got to Jeuno from San d'Oria. And no Chocobo license yet. So what was I supposed to do? My Home Point was set at Port Jeuno, so asking for a warp wouldn't work.

Then I remembered I left my Kingdom Stable Collar at the Mog House.

I ran inside, grabbed my collar with a quick thank you to the moogle, and warped back home to San d'Oria. The teleport guy was in sight, as I got another message, asking if I was coming yet.

Great timing. I was almost there. I replied, got my teleport, and a minute after my reply, I appeared right in front of the party leader's face X3

The party was soon at 4 people, but then it went slow... It wasn't until nearly a day later, we would set out to kill some goblins.

Our first intention was to kill goblins at "Goblin Hill", the unofficial name for a small hill at the North-West of the Dunes. But another party had claimed the spot on top of the hill, so we stayed down the hill, between a rock and a steep hill.

At first, I thought we were doomed, having a party with 2 White Mages, 1 Summoner, 2 Warriors (one was still at La Theine) and 1 Thief (me), but things went very easy. I did take on the role of Tank, something a Thief should not do. Thiefs belong behind the mob, not in front of it.

Then the leader had to go, a few hours after we started, followed by the sudden leave of our other White Mage. Luckily, our new leader had a Paladin coming, so we waiting for him as we killed some easy targets.

With the Paladin helping us out as Tank, I could finally get behind the mobs to do massive damage with Sneak Attack, a special Thief ability, where we put all our might into one blow! Unfortunatelly, the monsters were too easy for us to handle, but I got to where I wanted to go.

I told the party a few hours in advance that I was leaveing, and when I left, I teleported back to San d'Oria, where I'm now resting up for my trip to Jeuno again.

No pictures yet, dear log. I did take my camera with me, but the pictures are still being developed.

BTW, remembering things from before my San d'Oria time begins to hurt. I hope it doesn't get worse...

Tombs and Boulders

On my way to practise some more on my marksmanship, I bumped into a friend of mine, Twinkly, near the Auction House. She recently completed mission 3-3. Made me think about where I am on my Rank position. I'll go poke Lekuro is he wants to do mission 1-2 or 1-3 with me some time.

I was kinda surprised to see Twinkly as such an experienced player. We met at a Dunes party just a few days ago... I also didn't remember her being this tall... nor being blonde... Is my amnesia kicking getting worse? I hope not...

I waved goodbye as we both had places to be, and turned around to get to the gate.

"I sing you a tale of a Corsair named Yoru~! Her cleavage is visible in that coat I adore you~!" I heard behind me as I got past the Auction House. Facing where this song came from, I saw a Bard singing. Very weird songs she sang...

Then I noticed a moogle flying there in the middle of the crowd. Curious as I was, I walked up the moogle and learned he was an Event Moogle. He told me how many mobs I had killed, but I didn't remember it being that many... Did I really kill all that much back at Windurst? Hmmm... I get a vague image of a yellow, big creature...

The moogle handed me an Anniversary Ring after telling me all this data. Really... how do these moogles know all this? Are they spying on me? ¬.¬

When I had gathered my stuff, I made my way to the Ronfaure Outpost. The last time I did the supply quest to Zulkheim, I realised I had never done that for the Outpost closest to San d'Oria.

After some shooting and killing near Knightwell, I made my way to King Ranperre's tomb. I had much fun killing and kite-ing the goblins in the tunnels of this area, until I found a way out of these tunnels. My curiousity had to be stilled, so I made my way up the stairs, only to find ruins on the surface.

Walking around them, I found a tomb in the middle of som ruins, with a few adventurers around, as if they were waiting for something. I checked the name on the tomb and found out this was the resting place of King Ranperre, also known as the Dragon King. I remember reading something about this place in my San d'Oria Adventurers Manual. Something to do with a dragon guarding the tomb. I felt a little uneasy once I remembered that, and made my way back to East Ronfaure.

On my way back through the tunnels, I got lost, because didn't had a map of this area on me. I accidentially hit a hidden switch and heard something falling behind me, followed by the noise of something rolling my way. Behind me, I saw this huge boulder coming my way. I quickly made a run for it, and managed to escape the boulder, and the tomb area, unharmed.

Having run out of ammo, I returned to the city, and heard a familiar voice in the Linkshell: Faithful. We packed our stuff and met up at Gusgen Mines, to get me a Magicked Skull. I needed that item in a quest that would teach me the way of acquiring skills from other jobs with my current one. It took a day, but we found one, and made our way back to Selbina, where the quest was started. I traded this guy at the other end of this little village the special items he asked for, and he taught me the ways.

I returned home, changed my equipment, and headed out to gather Warrior skills.

Amazing how I remembered something from my past. It was a big yellow blur, but still... it was something! And then this Windurstian ring I carry around with me everywhere I go. It's me, fishing for fun during the Easter Event.

To save pages, I decided to put more things in this entry than just the fighting parts. There's so much I've been through since I joined the Kingdom of San d'Oria. Like crafting, for example. With a gobbiebag filled with plenty of gil, I joined the Tanners' Guild; a guild where they practise leathercraft. And it's very easy! I got a Dark Crystal and synthesized a Sheep Leather, and made a good fortune on those.

The next recipe was not that profitable, so I decided to skip leathercraft for now and just make a fortune on Sheep Leather. I wasn't able to get information on other recipes from some guild members, saying I was an amateur -_- Whatever...

A few days later, I invited Lekuro to go out and kill things, to become better in what we do best: being Thiefs.

We found out that not all mobs can be stolen from. They were too much on their guard. At one point, Leku decided to try something else. He grabbed the sheep tight in his big, masculine hands, and told me to "Steal from it! Now!" I was confused, but tried it anyway. It was a failure. For some strange reason, Sheep don't have pockets to pick...

It was a loooong run to Valkurm Dunes, the place rumoured to be disasterous. I wondered why. I got to the Outpost in one piece, and delivered their supplies. The Outpost guys were friendly enough to offer me teleportation back to San d'Oria if I ever had the need for it.

After a few hours hanging out around the Outpost, socializing with the locals and other adventurers who were there to battle, I got asked to join a party. My first Dunes party, and they all talked funny. It sounded like some Far-Eastern language. Luckily, one of them knew some English, so all went well. They made me pull the mobs to the camp and we went through them with ease.

At some point near the end of the party, I witnessed how an Elvaan was beating up a Goblin that got himself in a tree. I quickly snapped a picture of that weird occurence. The party ended, and I took a break of a few hours to refuel my energy.

The next party was not that great at first. People needed a raise after the second or so mob we defeated, and some just left the party. Me and Twinkly, my new friend, remained at our camp and got invited to join some other party. Again, I was the puller and we spent many hours fighting in the name of Altana and our respective nations.

A few days later, I made an ever longer trip. A few party members of the last Dunes party told me to get some Bounding Boots. After asking Eirwen about those, I walked my way to Bastok, on the most southern end of the continent, to kick Leaping Lizzy's ass. I managed to shorten my trip by using the teleport service the Outpost guys offered me a couple of days ago. Apparently, this person in Northern San d'Oria is part in this service. And for a reasonable price.

I found out where she was often located, and made camp there. For some reason, Lizzy would come out every one-and-a-half day, or when you kill enough of her familiars. I managed to meet her twice, but all I got was some Lizard Skin. After a few days, I gave up and went home. I took my special Sword Festival item and warped back home in an instant.

A few days later, I got myself some Pickled herring. Very tasty. For some odd reason, it gave me more confidence in my ranged attacks. Which is good, because I use my crossbow and either blind or acid bolts to pull the mobs to the camp. I used the teleportation service again and got a party as soon as I appeared in the Dunes area.

The mobs we fought were easy to kill. Way too easy! But it was good. We went for the quantity, not quality this time. This also meant I used up more bolts than I had hoped for. I can hardly wait to get my hands on some Warrior abilities. Then again... Provoking gives so much hate to the mob...

At one point, we decided to go to the secret beach. After a while, one of the party members used an Area of Effect spell, and we got ambushed by some leeches. Ouch! I quickly ran to the Gustav Tunnel, and managed to stay unharmed. When I returned to the entrance of the tunnel, another party member ran towards me. Everyone else had already passed out, and she was trying to stay up. Unfortunatelly, this resulted in me eating sandtarts, with Jadah, now another one of my new friends, laying half on top of me.

That marked the end of the latest Dunes adventure. We decided to end our party, and I made my way back home. I bought some more bolts and went outside to practise on my aims. I don't think I improved much, but I sure ended up with quite the loot after killing over 90 mobs =3

As for my memories... I don't think I'm regaining them here in San d'Oria, nor at Bastok, for I've never been there before my amnesia. So I'm fighting hard to one day make it back to Windurst on my own, or with the many friends I made during my stay on this side of Vana'diel.

Well, that's the end of this entry in my log. I think I wrote down everything by now, so no more long entries after this... I hope...

Beginnings...

My friends told me to write a logbook on my adventures and whatnot, in case I lose more memories than I already have. So here it is.

So... where to start. Guess I'll start with how I lost my memory.

I remember I was running out of one of those towers far away from here. I believe it was called Sarutabaruta? Lemme look this up on one of my maps.

East Sarutabaruta... that's the one. Anyway, the next thing I remember was waking from being knocked out by something, and hearing the voice of Eazura, who's a friend of mine now. She heard me say her San d'Orian friend's name (Lekuro), and thought I was from that nation. I was confused with myself, but agreed to had her escort me back home, or so we thought. Having amnesia isn't fun. I kept asking for the familiar things.

Many miles, a couple of adventures, and some sleepless nights later, we found out I wasn't from San d'Oria at all. Lekuro didn't recognize me at all. I was freaking out, but then Eirwen stepped in and told me I originated from Windurst, which is like, next to Sarutabaruta...

I don't remember what came over me, but I decided to stay at San d'Oria and joined their forces. Now I'm doing missions and quests in the name of the Kingdom of San d'Oria.

It took a while to settle in, but my friends helped me through these days. Especially Lekuro, a fellow San d'Orian. He's this tall, buff, and good looking Elvaan with red hair. I think he's holding himself back most of the time. He's not quite the chatter like me.

He and I went out and killed many mobs whilst enjoying the scenery. I had never thought he'd be someone to kick back and relax to look and enjoy the surroundings. But I must admit, Ronfaure and La Theine Plateau can be breathtaking. Especially during sunsets.

After a while, I decided to explore the city some more, and bumped into this leathercraft guild. Tanners' Guild! That's what that's called. I started with a basic recipy: Sheep Leather. The way the dark crystal spins is awesome! Not to mention the gil I get for a stack of Sheep Leather. I'm going to be rich! >=3

That's about it. That's how I got to San d'Oria, and what I'm doing with my life now. Next time, I'll write about my battle experiences.
