Chocobo Madness and Keys

Look at it. It's it sweet? =3 I'm made a start with Chocobo raising. I wonder what color my chick will have. Will I be a good parent? What about food?! Gah!!!

But let's go back a few days.

Before I got my chocobo egg, I was fighting some Orcs at Ghelsba Outpost, hoping to perfect my aim on marksmanship. Even though I could shoot one Orc through the head and hit the other one behind him between the eyes, I didn't feel like I was accoplishing anything.

Then I got a tell, asking if I could join in an all Mithra group to complete a quest at the Tower of North San d'Oria. Since they could use some more San d'Orian Mithras, I asked Anemonet through the linkshell to join.

What do you get when you put a party full of Mithra in one room? Panic! XD
Seeing the only tall Mithra on my left in the picture was a little intimidating. So big...

After hanging out with these girls, acting like goofs, I got Faithful to bring me back to Jeuno. Once we got there, I traded her some ingredients for my new favourite food. You've heard me talk about it before: Pickled herring. She gave me so many stacks of this, my mini fridge in the Mog House is starting to reek.

We said our goodbyes and I made my way to Qufim to join a group of adventurers in killing a load of crab. It was a pretty good party. Not the best, but we went through the crabs and eventually pugils as if they were made out of Selbina butter. The only downside was...

...I got knocked out cold. Twice. First time was because a worm decided to join the slaughter. The second time was an unforseen link of three pugils. As the party took care of one of these land fish, I ran my whiskers off with two others behind me. I tried outrunning them by entering the Delkfut Tower, but they got to me in the worst possible location ever: In the middle of a field with a few giants, undead, weapons... you get the picture. In the end, it wasn't a bad day.

A few days later, I talked to this Chocobo stable owner in Upper Jeuno. While he was feeding his chocobo's inside the stable, I noticed a sad chocobo looking outside the city walls. I have no idea what came over me, but I let him escape. The owner, Brutus, wasn't too happy about that and asked me to return his chocobo.

Even though I let his chocobo get away, he allowed me to take care of one of the other sad ones. This chocobo was found running outside and was taken in by Brutus, not knowing who the owner was. The chocobo wouldn't eat, and as punishment for letting the other chocobo escape, he had me put on the quest to feed this lost chocobo.

A few days later, the owner of the lost chocobo was found, but the chocobo wasn't too happy seeing him again. Brutus had a good word with his owner. Soon afterwards, I got my Chocobo License, and could run around the world on these mighty birds.

On my way home to San d'Oria on a rented chocobo, I found the chocobo I let loose. Without hessitation, I dismounted the one I was riding, and caught the fugitive one. I rode him back to Brutus and he was glad to have his chocobo back. But something weird was with his chocobo. I told Brutus there was a wild chocobo his chocobo met in La Theine Plateau.

Hantileon, the president of the Vana'diel Chocobo Society, dropped by to inform us he had a similar case back in San d'Oria. Since everyone was in a hurry, and I had no airship pass yet, I equipped my Kingdom Stables Collar and teleported my way to the Stables, where Hantileon had called for all the stable owners for an important meeting.

After several option and exchange of words, we decided to bring the chocobo from San d'Oria to
let him meet the Jeuno one. And I was right. The Jeuno chocobo had met the runaway chocobo from San d'Oria. There were no wild chocobos involved. The chocobos apologized to us, and in reward for my efforts (even though this was caused by me ^^;) , They gave me an egg to raise.

The next day, Anemonet dropped by to help me out collecting some chest keys for the Airship pass to Kazham. First stop was Fort Ghelsba, and we got it on the first kill. As if Altana had put an angel on my shoulder.

Ane arranged a teleport as I sold some stuff to clear my gobbiebag, and we soon made our way to the Palborough Mines, near Bastok. Thank goodness I now got my Chocobo License, else I'd still be walking my way to Bastok ^^;

After getting the key on the first kill again, we took a shortcut to Bastok. Very strange system... a little boat that only goes one way. Ane took me to an Elvaan lady who sold all kinds of maps, and I bought some off her. One map was expensive, but Ane was generous enough to lent me the gil. Then I got a Warp scroll from the San d'Orian consult at Bastok Metalworks, and got a chocobo from the stables at Port Jeuno.

I still wonder why she told me to close my eyes and pout my lips, as shown in the picture...

On my way to Windurst, I came across another white tower in an area called Tahrongi Canyon. For a minute or so, I stood there spacing out, remembering my vision from weeks ago, about the white tower in a weird area when I saw the one in La Theine Plateau. I shook my head, got off the rented chocobo, and got myself a teleport crystal.

Another strange thing I noticed was that I already had the maps of these regions in my posession. Then again, I did come from this area, or so my friends told me. This is yet another clue to my origin.

Entering East Sarutabaruta, I was surprised to see the these huge yellow caterpillar monsters, and a bird-man creature behind it. I have no idea how long I spaced out that time, but I recalled the yellow blob from my visions a few weeks ago as this caterpillar thing named crawler, and those bird-men as Yagudo.

It's great to remember things, but does it have to be like this? Me, spacing out? And the headache afterwards is no party either.

I found my way to Giddeus with easy. As if I knew the way. That was a weird experience. I waited for Anemonet to arrive, and together we set out to explore the area, looking for another key.

And this time, it was NOT on the first kill. More like the second or third one. I claimed my price, and waited for Anemonet to return, but she didn't respond to my calls through the party channel. Her health was okay, and the Yagudo here wouldn't even think twice about attacking her, so I warped back to Jeuno.

At the departure hall of the Jeuno-Kazham route, I was reminded of the option to pay for my pass in gil. Are these guys short on cash or something? There's no chance in Odin's Chamber I could get that gil on such a short notice. So I got him the keys I just collected instead. In return, he gave me my Airship Pass to Kazham, and I went back to my Mog House to rest. And I could use the rest. Anemonet is taking me and Leku out for some missions.
